What do you feel like doing?
Pick one, and see the kind of posts you'd find within walking distance — each live for an hour or two, then gone.
How it works
From "I want to" to "see you there".
Four steps, and none of them is swiping.
-
Say what you want to do
"I want to #play #piano." Your post is live for up to three hours, then it's gone.
-
See who's nearby
Posts from people within your radius who want something similar, with a rough distance — never a pin on a map.
-
Send an #Interest
Tap #Interest on a post. If they accept, the two of you get a private chat.
-
Meet — or don't
Agree a time and a public place, or leave the chat. Either is fine.
Safety and privacy
Built so meeting a stranger isn't a leap.
Your location, your conversations and your account are handled as if they were the most sensitive things we hold — because they are.
Your exact location stays with us
Others see a rough distance and an area at least 150 metres (500 feet) from you. A post's location is erased the moment it ends.
Chats don't pile up
A conversation's messages are deleted a day after it ends, and a conversation ends after a day without a message.
Adults only
Every account is 18 or over and signs up with a phone number. Sexual solicitation is grounds for a ban, not a warning.
Tell a friend where you're going
Share a safety plan with someone you trust. If you don't check in, they get a text with the details.
Block and report
A block is immediate, mutual and silent. Reports about physical safety are reviewed first.
Your data, your call
Download a copy of everything we hold about you, or delete your account, from the app's settings.
Questions
The short answers.
The long ones are in our Privacy Policy and Terms.
Is #SameTag a dating app?
No. You post what you want to do, not who you want to meet, and the other person is secondary to the thing you both want to do. Sexual solicitation is grounds for a ban.
Can people see where I am?
No. Others see a rough distance, such as "0.4 mi", and an area at least 150 metres (500 feet) from you. Your post's exact location is erased the moment the post ends, and we keep no history of where you've been.
What happens to my messages?
A conversation ends after 24 hours without a message, and its messages are deleted 24 hours after it ends.
How does a safety plan work?
Before you meet someone, tell a friend where you're going and when you'll check in. If you don't check in, we text them the details. They don't need the app, and they can reply STOP at any time.
Who can use it, and when?
Adults 18 and over, with a phone number. #SameTag is coming soon to iPhone, launching in the United States one city at a time.
